
FAO and CLME host the final workshop on the “Case Study on Shared Stocks of Shrimps and Groundfish Fisheries of the Guianas-Brazil Shelf” in Trinidad and Tobago, 16-18 of October. Countries participating in this Case Study shared the outcomes of their national workshops, presenting on lessons learnt and best practices emanating at the national level. The workshop also focused on the validation of the transboundary issues hindering the sustainable management of the shrimp and groundfish resources along the Guianas-Brazil Shelf, as well as identifying proposed interventions and activities for improved governance and management for possible inclusion in the CLME SAP.
Participating countries in the Case Study in Shared Stocks of Shrimp and Groundfish Fisheries of the Guianas-Brazil shelf include: Brazil, France (French Guyana), Guyana, Suriname, Trinidad & Tobago and Venezuela.
